Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • In April 2021, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 117.53 or an increase of 0.41 percent compared to the NTP in March2021, which was 117.05.
  • The increase in NTP in April 2021 was due to the increase in NTP in four sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.99 percent, NTP of the Horticulture sub-sector by 0.59 percent, NTP for the Animal Husbandry sub-sector by 1.33 percent, and NTP for the Fisheries sub-sector by 1.32 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector experienced a decline of 0.08 percent. Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In April 2021, there was rural deflation in North Sumatra of 0.13 percent.
  • The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Enterprises (NTUP) of North Sumatra Province April 2021 amounted to 118.90 or an increase of 0.11 percent. compared to NTUP the previous month.
